Just a quick note on the flood devastation. The amazing thing about it has been how quickly the government, its agencies and charities have moved. The information blitz has been incredible, led by the Premier of Queensland Anna Bligh. She has shown true leadership as have the mayors of the cities and towns affected by the oceans of water which have swamped their locales.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastation.

ReplyDeleteMaking the Federal Government, Louisiana state government, New Orleans city government, and the people running things in Haiti (government seems a bit too dignified a term for it) look pretty pathetic.
ReplyDeleteThe poulation has held up remarkably well there and your nation should by and large be proud. Makes one consider emigration at times.
